Knitting is fun! Many times I knit things just because they appeal to me. People sometimes ask, "What is that for?" as if, since it is a knitted item, it must have some utility. They are only confused when I reply that it's just for pretty, or just for fun. None of these are my own designs, but all of them begged to be knitted.
You can tell it makes her feel powerful.
A good cardigan can help you conquer the world! The yarn is Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran, an absolutely yummy yarn. It feels good in the ball, better to knit with, and even better to wear.
Lucy Neatby's Faroese Flower Shawl consumed me. I knitted it in about a month. I dyed the yarn (Henry's Attic Pony 2-ply) myself. I wanted my shawl to be longer than Lucy's, so I repeated the main zig-zag section. I had to extend the chart for the center gusset. I replaced the scalloped border with a seed stitch band.
