Socks are my favorite items to knit.  I started designing hand knit socks in 1994, and haven't looked back.  There seems to be no end in sight for designs.

The short fingering weight socks were made with Fortissima Cotton, Socka Cotton, or Regia with Cotton.  Some have Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock as contrast yarn.

The sport, DK, and worsted weight socks used a great variety of yarns, including persian yarns usually used for needlepoint.  You may recognize Noro Kureyon in the Entrelac Socks.  Most of the heavier socks have been donated to Children in Common.

American Summer has three ladies fingering weight socks.  The red Jasmin sock has a diagonal eyelet cuff, a traditional turned heel, and a wedge toe.  Banners waves its flags.  A Light Chop has a wavy knit/purl design.  These two have a smooth turned heel and a star toe.

I made a pair of socks with beads for Lauren.  When she received them, she held them up, one in each hand, and said, "I'm going to call this one Sockie, and this one, Bob!"

Sockie & Bob and a few of their friends each have different edge treatments.  Sockie and Bob, in pink, have ribbed edges and a regular pattern of beads.  Liz and Frankie, in green, have rolled edges and a simple braid down each side.  Pat and Inez, in white and multi, have sideways zig-zag edges and garter bands.  Skip and Ollie, in self-striping yarn, have eyelet hems.  All are worked in fingering weight yarns.

Do you ever wonder what to do with all those balls of left-over yarns?  The self-patterning yarns can be particularly perplexing to use in odd lots.  

Orts & Oddballs Socks offers a few suggestions.  Left, the Just Plain Socks have a contrast heel turn and modest stripe around the toe.  The Just Plain Weird Socks have I-cord tentacles tied in knots growing out of the cuffs.  Center, the Ribbon Illusion Socks feature a simple slip-stitch pattern using yarns fussy-cut from a self-striping yarn.  Right, Cat Toys Socks allow you to display your virtuosity with I-cord and cable techniques.  All use fingering weight yarns.

Happiness Socks and Strap Socks feature a St. John's Cross as a cable motif.  You can select socks or strap socks, which can be worn over any other socks for a change of pace, as "yoga" socks, or as extra warmth for your ankles.

These are worked in DK weight yarn.

Diamond Drops Socks have three diamonds descending on both sides of the leg.  The pattern includes both the socks and the strap socks, which can be worn over any other socks for extra warmth or a change of pace, or as "yoga" socks.  These are worked in DK weight yarn.
